2. Correct the underlined mistakes.

Yesterday Karim woke up late and rushed quickly to his office. When he arrived there, he discovered that he didn’t have the keys to his desk. He thought that he (1) must have forgot them at home. He called his wife at home but there was no answer. He thought she (2) might have go shopping. So he called her on her mobile phone several times but she didn’t answer. He thought, “She (3) can’t have leave it at home because she needs it all the time.” He guessed she (4) might has been in a noisy place and that’s why she didn’t hear it.

He needed his keys, so he would have to go get them. When he returned home, he didn’t find them there but he did find his wife’s mobile phone! He thought that his wife (5) must took the keys by mistake and she (6) couldn’t intended to leave the phone at home. She (7) must have forgot it at home. He didn’t return to his office immediately. He waited until his wife returned to see what exactly had happened.

3. Find the mistakes and correct them.

There is a parcel outside the house. The postman must have left it at the door. He isn’t supposed to do so. Someone might took it if he had seen it. Maybe the postman rang the bell and when there was no answer, he left it. Certainly, we must be out when he came.

5. Read the paragraph. Underline the correct word in parentheses.

I think that people who do parachute jumping (must be - can’t be - might be) crazy! If someone tells me that he’ll do a parachute jump, then I think he (must be - can’t be - might be) serious. It’s a very dangerous thing that needs a lot of training. Your life is in danger and anything (might – must - might have) go wrong. You (might be - must be - should be) seriously injured or even killed.

My brother thinks that it (must be - can’t be - might have been) a wonderful experience to look down from the sky and see everything beneath you very tiny. He also believes that our lives (must be - can’t be - should be) much fun if we never take risks!
